Ski boots — Salomon’s tables as printed; Rossignol’s method

Every Salomon ski-boot table GearIQ reads, exactly as printed — misprints marked [sic] and duplicated rows included — plus Salomon’s and Rossignol’s measuring methods. Lange publishes no size table. Salomon’s general footwear conversion tables are shown last, labelled as footwear: they are not ski-boot charts.

GearIQ gives no binding release (DIN) settings — anywhere.

Shown exactly as the maker prints it. “*”, “--” and empty cells mean the maker prints no value there.

Body sizing

Salomon — alpine ski-boot tables by franchise (US size guide)

Body sizing chart, shown as printed.

From Salomon (as printed):

“1. Place a sheet of paper on the floor and against a wall.”

“2. Make sure you are wearing the same socks that you would normally wear with this type of shoe”

“3. Wearing these socks, stand on the sheet of paper with your foot perpendicular to the wall and your heel against the wall.”

“4. Then use a pen to draw a line just in front of your big toe. Repeat for both feet and take the longer distance to determine your size.”

“5. Using a ruler, measure the distance between the wall and the line you drew to find your size.”

“6. Once you've got your length in millimeters, you just have to report it in the corresponding cell of the column "foot length range (mm)" whatever the franchise.”

Method only

Salomon — How to choose ski boots (method and between-sizes rule)

Sizing METHOD — the maker publishes no size table, only this way of finding the size.

From Salomon (as printed):

“Ski boot sizing uses mondo sizing which is measured in centimeters and corresponds exactly to the longest part of your foot.”

“Ski boots are generally available in half sizes. If your foot measurement falls between two sizes, anticipate the compression of the boot liner and choose half a size smaller.”

Method only

Rossignol — Mondo Point method (no size table published)

Sizing METHOD — the maker publishes no size table, only this way of finding the size.

From Rossignol (as printed):

“Ski boots are typically measured using the Mondo Point Size (MPS) or the Metric Sizing System (MSS), which corresponds to the length of your foot in centimeters.”

“To determine the right size, consider measuring your foot in Mondo Point (MPS), where your boot size corresponds to the length of your foot in centimeters. For example, if your foot measures 26.5 cm, you will likely wear a 26.5 Mondo Point boot.”

Compatibility

Salomon — Unisex Cover boots (cross-country overboot, not an alpine boot)

Compatibility chart — matches a binding or board size to a boot size. It does not size a body.

From Salomon (as printed):

“Choose your size according to the size range in which your cross-country ski boot fits.”
